Experiment #7 - Forces (Frictional force)

This hands on experiment caught me off guard. I was done teaching and assigned work to my student when he was stumped with a question.

Thankfully, I managed to have a glossy paper surface and quickly grabbed a marker to mark out the area.

A super easy experiment!

Step 1:

CHILD: Get the child to feel the 2 different surface areas first.

- Get a dark colored marker and scribble.

- What does the child notice? Which surfaces are harder/easier to write on? Why?

* Suggested Guide:

- The surface with the normal plain paper is easier to write as there is friction between the pen and the paper.

*NOTE: answers may vary, according to how/what the question asks.

In this case, my students are asked which paper surface is easier to write and why.
