Way 2 of 6 – Paper Craft

What can you do with a toilet roll, an empty tissue box, or a paper plate? Plenty! Paper craft is really a great way to train your child’s right brain with next-to-nothing in cost. And you stand to gain a whole lot of parent-child bonding.

Through Google’s help, toilet rolls can become binoculars or a horse; an empty tissue box can become a farmhouse or a racing car; and paper plates become attractive cookie boxes and clocks. The possibilities of what you can do with other of such things, like empty soft drink bottles, packing cardboard, and even styrofoam food boxes, are endless.

Getting your child to make something from such recyclables helps in the development of her motor skills, creativity and spatial learning.

For toddlers, folding paper and gluing things together help in their hand-eye coordination. When they are of kindergarten age, craft-making helps them think out of the box; that a tissue box is more than a container. When they go to primary school, paper craft helps them visualize 2D drawings on paper as 3D; useful for their math.
