Day 14: Checking My Answers

We start the series with a Combined Personalities Test for both parent and child. Yes, both you and your child should answer the questions together.

Why do I choose to start with this? I believe by taking the test together, your child and you will build a common understanding of what to expect for the rest of the 9 tests in the series. It should lead her to better understand the reason why you are doing this.

The instructions are in the page. Read them carefully before you proceed, namely the presence of the SUBMIT button at the end of the page (phone browser users, please note).

You can access Test 1 here -> https://www.personalitypage.com/cgi-local/build_pqk.cgi

Have fun!

This is an easy and quick test to give you some insight to your children’s fundamental personality type. According to the page, there are only 3 main personality types your child can have. But each will ultimately determine his perception of life and the experiences he will see through.

This is one of my favourite tests to take with my children. That’s because I know I can tell my son that although he’s not good with accessing situations and expressing his feelings, he is good in other areas. Likewise, my daughter knows she’s not good in numbers, but she has always been assured that she is great in arts.

This Multiple Intelligences Test for Children tells you exactly the percentage of each of the 8 intelligences your child possess. You can expound on the better intelligences to motivate your child, while working on the ones she scored lower in.

By the way, the 8 intelligences are:

  1. Kinesthetic – Body Smart
  2. Linguistic – Word Smart
  3. Logical – Number Smart
  4. Interpersonal – People Smart
  5. Intrapersonal – Myself Smart
  6. Musical – Music Smart
  7. Visual/Spatial – Picture Smart
  8. Naturalistic – Nature Smart

Every child has their own style of learning. This test should like you learn what your child’sunique learning styles are so that you know the best ways to encourage them.

By the way, this is a variant of the Multiple Intelligences Test we took in the previous test.

The western world likes to term such intelligences as gifts. I believe there’s no harm if you instill this notion in your child. Just make sure that he doesn’t cling on to this too much to the state that he think the rest of his weaker intelligences aren’t important at all.

Hey! All the previous tests were for schooling children. How about one for my toddler?

Well, this test is for you if your child is between 3 to 5.

Actually, we know that children already play and learn in different ways, even from very young ages. I think it is important for you to understand the dominant way your child learns, so that you know how to best to help in her development.
