Recap.    What is a Compound Subject ?

  •  When a sentence has two or more nouns to form a single, larger noun phrase, that’s called a “compound subject.”

1.    Either … or ….

  • The verb agrees with the noun or pronoun closest to it.

E.g.

Either you or Jason is telling the truth.

Either Jason or you are telling the truth.

Either the cupcakes or the cake is delicious.

Either the cupcake or the cakes are delicious.
