Watch the Subject-Verb Agreement

When two nouns are joined together, the singular noun becomes a plural noun. Somehow, nost children will remember to change 'is' to 'are' but they will not change the singular noun to a plural noun ('sister' to 'sisters').

Example:

Mary is a good sister. Jane is a good sister.

-> Mary and Jane are good sisters

-> Both Mary and Jane are good sisters.

-> Mary and Jane is good sister.     X

-> Mary and Jane are good sister.   X

-> Both Mary and Jane is good sister.     X

-> Both Mary and Jane is good sisters.  X

-> Both Mary and Jane are good sister.   X
