Frozen In Time

This connector is used to describe an action that happened at a particular point in time.

It can appear at the beginning or the middle of a sentence. If it appears at the beginning of the sentence, a comma is required.

As per the earlier rules, do remind your child that there is a need to change the noun into a pronoun within the same sentence.

Example:

Sally saw a lizard. Sally screamed.

-> When Sally saw a lizard, she screamed.

-> Sally screamed when she saw a lizard.

-> When Sally saw a lizard, Sally screamed.  X

-> Sally screamed when Sally saw a lizard.  X
