Topic: Electricity
Key Words : Current, blows
Answer: When a light bulb in a series circuit is blown, it creates an open circuit. This means current stops flowing and the rest of the light bulbs do not turn on.
When a light bulb in a parallel circuit is blown, the light bulbs in the other parallel branches have current flowing through them. This allows the other light bulbs to light up.
Tip: Students don’t mention about the open circuit in series circuits but mention that the light bulbs do not light up. Such an answer is not sufficient to score full marks for such a question.
